The Seinäjoki power plant received an excellent audit result
EPV’s subsidiary Seinäjoen Voima received positive feedback in the audit, particularly for its investments in renewable energy production and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, the overall cleanliness of the facility areas, and staff training. The audit results will help further develop the practical operations of energy production facilities as well as workplace and environmental safety.
Vaasan Voima to grow the capacity of its thermal energy storage facility
Vaasan Voima’s significant investment will increase the capacity of the Vaskiluoto thermal energy storage (TES) facility to 17 gigawatt-hours. This will meet the demand for district heating better than ever before, even in the coldest winter months. The extension of the thermal energy storage facility will be completed by late 2025. The Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has granted investment aid of over EUR 5.8 million for the project.
EPV’s solar park is being built in Lapua
The Heinineva solar power plant, to be completed in late 2025, will be one of the largest in Finland and the first ever to be built in a phased-out peat production area. There will be around 123,000 solar panels installed in the park.
EPV invests in a gas-engine power plant
EPV Energy’s subsidiary, Tornion Voima, plans to invest in a new gas-engine power plant. It will be capable of rapidly increasing electricity generation during various disruptions and unpredictable weather conditions. The total capacity of the engine power plant is about 43 MW. The construction work will start this autumn, and the completed power plant will become operational in 2026.
