Projects
Energy storage based on CO2 battery technology
EPV Energy is planning a 1600 MWh energy storage system based on battery technology in Laihia, which can store zero-emission electricity for later use. At the same time, it would effectively support the balance of the power system.
Hydrogen Solutions
Hydrogen plays a significant role in the achievement of climate objectives. With renewable electricity, hydrogen can be produced completely emission-free. Together with other Vaasa-based organisations, EPV Energy intends to produce hydrogen from the wind and electricity from hydrogen.
Electrification of heat
EPV Energy has five electric boilers in operation across the entire Group, as well as a district heating battery at the Seinäjoki power plant. These investments strongly support EPV’s New Electricity Revolution strategy, as well as its mission to achieve zero-emission and flexible energy generation and consumption.
Huge solar power project being built in South Ostrobothnia
The economic competitiveness of solar power has improved over the last few years, and this trend is expected to continue. In 2020, EPV started planning its first industrial-scale solar power project.
